WORKING PRINCIPLES OF GAS CONVERTOR KIT: Any internal combustion Engine with spark ignition, running on Petrol or Kerosene can be made to run on LPG, CNG or propane gas with the help of a converter kit. As you already know the working of IC engine:- It sucks the “AIR FUEL MIXTURE”  through CARBURETOR. Piston Compresses the AIR FUEL MIXTURE. After Compression, Spark Plug ignite this mixture, which in turn explodes and delivers the required mechanical Power (BHP) at crankshaft, Engine is a mechanical work Horse, Sucking Air & Fuel and delivering Power through series of regular explosion inside the combustion chamber. For making explosions in engine we require the following:- Spark, through spark plug. Correct Ration of Oxygen + Hydrocarbons. Oxygen:- is taken from Air sucked inside Hydrocarbons:-  Fuels Like, Petrol, Kerosene, LPG, CNG, MATHANE, Propane are all Hydrocarbons. *The word Correct Air FUEL RATIO is very important, all story rotates around this word.  Here this Device CARBURATOR  come into existence, which means mixing in correct ratio.  Basically Carburetor has got three circuits:- Starting Circuit – Rich mixture for cold starting (Choke System). Slow running mixture (Idealing ) – Air & Fuel both in small quantity, because of low speed. Acceleration & High Speed Running – Air & Fuel Supply in accordance to engine speed & load.  Above was the case when engine was running on liquid fuel like petrol etc. *For Gas Running of Engine Separate GAS CONVERTER  has to be fitted, which is responsible for supplying correct quantity of GAS to match engine requirements.   This is a Pneumatic Device, its key element is a very sensitive diaphragm, operates on engine suction (negative) pressure.  It does the following functions:- When Piston is stationary (Engine OFF), its safety value locks the gas completely. For cold starting choke is pressed to give extra gas for starting & making a rich mixture. As soon we kick the engine and piston makes the movement, the safety valve then unlocks the valve seat.  Small amount of Gas starts leaking through Control Valve, which is adjusted to correct ratio for slow running/idealing of engine. For Acceleration & high speed, Diaphragm moves inwards further, and its pin presses the control lever to allow release of more Gas to match engine requirement. It is very important for the GAS RUNNING Engines:- Spark Plug must be clean & spark must be bright.  If engine is Over fuel with GAS, i.e., with every stroke of piston, if engine sucks more Gas, than its Air ratio, the fuel will not ignite, Hence engine will never Start. If mixture is week (lean), means Air Supply is more, but Gas Supply is even lower than correct ratio, spark plug may not ignite the Air Fuel mixture or it can misfire. While installation of kit, gas Converter is tuned to correct ratio, with the help of 2 Adjustment knobs provided  out side the converter body. POINTS TO REMEMBER WHILE USING GAS KITS Gas Carburetor & Controlling. Safety, Gas locking when engine is “OFF” 2-T Oil Control System in case of 2 Stroke engines. Importance of Spark Plug gap & bright spark. Separation of unwanted liquids from Gas & its Drainage System. Pipeline size for uninterrupted gas flow, size to be 8 MM. For Trouble shooting develops quick judgment if it is over fuel/week mixture or Gas is not coming at all.

 SAFETY FEATURES

1. All AGF Gas Systems are low pressure Base. Means a Regulator similar to kitchen LPG Stove is fitted on Top of Cylinder, What ever is the pressure, that is in side the cylinder, Gas comes out at very low & Safe pressure, which is internationally approved Safe technique for working on LPG.

2. Another Safety feature that makes it even more Safer than LPG Stove used in kitchen is that it releases gas only when piston makes movement. As soon Engine Stops for any reason Gas supply to Engine cuts off Automatically. In LPG Stove Gas can be released manually by operating knob “ON” or “OFF”, but this System releases gas only when Engine Start running.

3. The System operates at negative pressure, hence, if by chance any pipe leaks, it will suck atmosphere inside carburetor but Gas will not come out from that Pipe cut.

 CURRENT LEGAL STATUS ON LPG SYSTEMS


All Commercial Vehicles Buses, Auto Rickshaws and Taxies are already running on CNG in Delhi & Mumbai. Motor vehicle Act got amended after Parliament approval. After this Amendment now Insurance Companies are giving Insurance Policy on LPG Kit fitted vehicles with extra premium. Like CNG, now LPG is now available in petrol Pumps in Delhi. Government has also made sanction for LPG Pumps in States like Karnataka etc. Hindustan Motor (HM), Maruti & other Companies are planning LPG CARS with LPG TANKS fitted in them.


Please Note : The LP Gas available on Petrol Pump Costs more, around Rs.24/- Kg, whereas House Hold Gas @Rs17/18 because of Govt. subsidy. This is the reason, why some times in some States LPG fitted Cars are being challaned. Today LPG Tanks are available from 2 Kg to 20 Kg Capacity. These Tanks are permanently fitted on vehicle like Petrol Tanks, these cannot be taken out & LP Gas has to taken from Petrol Pump only. Govt. has objection of using cooking Gas cylinder on vehicle (which is subsides for kitchen use only) for Commercial use.


This Scene is not applicable to our products for Scooters, Motor Cycles, We have our private Cylinder, and we are not using Indian Oil or Bharat Petroleum Cylinders. The Project is at its beginning Stage and very few people know about this revolutionary technology. Still to avoid local level harassment kit is designed such that all mechanics including Cylinder is fitted in Dickey Box & nothing is visible as Extra fitting.

 AGF Gas System V/S Other Gas Systems


Market is flooded with local a well original ITALIAN TYPE GAS KITS, Suitable for Car Vehicles, but ALL OF THEM ARE HIGH PRESSURE BASED, and are similar to PRESSURE BOMBS ON ROAD.

 OPERATING GAS BASED GENSET

 

1. Fit LPG Kit as per Standard Procedure.

2. Replace Drain Bolt provided in Carburetor (LG 2000/2800) with DRAINER ASSEMBLY Provided in Kit.

3. Drain Kerosene/Petrol from Carburetor before running on LPG.

4. To ensure No Kerosene/Petrol enters Carburetor, Disconnect one end of Fuel Pipe from Fuel Cock after LPG Kit Installation.

5. For Generator Starting on LPG adopt following procedure :-

   1. Apply Generator Choke (Pull Choke)

   2. Press Choke Knob on LPG Carburetor for 1-2 seconds.

   3. Pull Generator Rope. Generator will start in 1 or 2 pulls.

   4. During cold starting, if Generator starts and after starting it immediately stops then repeat the same above procedure (step b & c). Now it will keep on running.

   5. After starting Push Back Generator Choke Gently.

6. LPG Kit is supplied in Pre Adjusted Condition & Both Adjustments are locked. However Kit is to be fitted on old Gensets, depending on engine conditions, if it requires to re-adjust Gas Settings, adopt following procedure:

   1. Adjust Governor Knob for smooth Starting of Generator.

   2. As soon, Generator Starts, Put full load on Genset and then adjust Knob of LPG Outlet for maximum Generator Output/Voltage and proper Smooth Running Acceleration.

   3. For Optimum Gas consumption OPEN Governor Knob and LPG Outlet Knob to Minimum Turns.

   4. After above settings lock both Adjusting Knobs.

7. Check Starting of Generator after 3-4 Hrs of Kit Installation. If it starts but stops immediately open by One Round Knob of Starting Adjustment and lock the adjustment.


CAUTION: After conversion of Generator on LPG Fuel, it is profitable to Run Generator on only LPG Cylinder. If you required to run Genset sometime on Kerosene and some other time on LPG Fuel Adopt following procedure:

1. On LPG Converter a Cock is provided for running on Kerosene. Turn Cock position to Kerosene and then Start Generator as usual.

2. For running on LPG, Put Cock Position on LPG, then Drain Kerosene from Carburetor by pressing (Push) DRAINER Knob for 10 to 12 seconds. After Kerosene Drain Start Generator on LPG as per its Starting Procedure.

 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - GAS KITS FOR VEHICLES

PRECAUTIONS

1. While Running on GAS, PETROL TAP must be at ‘OFF’ Position.

2. Always keep some petrol in Fuel Tank.

3. Drain Cock must be in OFF POSITION, otherwise gas will leak.

SERVICING

1. After every 5000 Km running Drain out liquid & oil from GAS CYLINDER at Authorized workshop.

2. Keep watch at oil separator. As soon it appears that it is full with liquid, Drain out liquid & oil by Turning ON Drain Cock Knob & then after close the knob.

3. At regular intervals, clean Dicky Lock with Petrol & then apply Grease/Oil on it.
